TURKEY, TURKEY, TURKEY!!!!

What a week!! Last week I had four Thanksgivings and one birthday party and provided food for two all the things. They all were fun. I got to spend time with friends that I haven’t seen in a while. Thanks to all who invited and were able to come to those celebrations. Jen got to come to one of the Thanksgivings and the birthday Party. It made the time oh so better with her around.

Jen and I heading up to Omaha, NE to spend Thanksgiving with he family at her brothers house. He is in the Air Force and can’t leave the base. It should be a fun and interesting time. I will tell you how it is. Then Friday we are heading back so Jen can work on Back Friday. Then I’m heading back to Jefferson City that day to spend the rest of Thanksgiving with my family. Lot of driving but it will be worth it if I can pull it off. To bad Jen can’t be with me but that might change in the future.

So because I’m going up to Omaha I won’t be able to run in the local Turkey Trot here in town. It is one of my favorite races every year but I have to give every once in a while. Plus I would be afraid of wanting to go out like I usually do and not be ready. Running is getting better I am just taking it slow. There are two races in December that I’m thinking of running but we will see on I feel at that time.

Well I wish everyone a safe trip to where ever they are going and enjoy time with your family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

I step backwards

I know it has been awhile but I have been busy, busy at work lately, which I don’t mind.
Yesterday I found out working for the City isn’t always fun. I designed this super doper Manhole cover for the “Stromwater Manhole Contest” where everyone liked it. I submitted skimming over the form to sign. Well skimming over the form I must of missed it because in the form it said that City employees couldn’t be in the contest. So the person in charge e-mailed me saying my drawing was no longer in the running. Well I come to find out many people liked it even the head boss of my division like it. I could have won the contest but things happen for a reason and I must not let it get me down. I will know what I did and one of these days maybe others will know my work but right now it is a step back.
Sometimes I think graphic design is the way to go but I’m not really to go back to school and all the art classes. I like to do it on the side and things I do people love but when I see what others can do it blows me away. I would like to consider myself a “Jack of all Trades.” I know enough to hold my own and to get myself into trouble. Maybe one of these days I will know the potential of my talents but right now I see it as learning.
I’m starting to get stronger at running. Back of my hip is still hurting and I come to find out some of my friends that also ran in the marathon are still having trouble running. They are older and I’m younger saying I can heal better but I have always been like that. I have been blessed with a body that can heal faster and I hope it keeps up with all the stupid things I do pushing myself to the limits. I ordered three pictures from the marathon. If anyone wants to see a man pushed to his limits.
Work is going well. I have been in meetings where I’m not in charge but I have there to answer questions and put my two cent in and I feel comfortable with that and I think is something that can lead to holding my own meetings and projects. I know the project for the meeting because I drew up the plans and been on them for like the last half year. It was a great feeling.
Jen and I are still doing well. That is all I have to say about that. HA

finding my way back

Well the way back to being me has not been fun but I think after two weeks I’m feeling more myself. Ever since I have gotten back from Chicago it has felt like I have had no time to step back and look what I did. I didn’t really want to do much and I felt down a lot but what I did in Chicago was awesome. I finished a Marathon, 26.2 mile run! Holy Crap, am I nuts! Yes, probably but you all should know that.
With the nice weather I went out biking and was only planning to be gone for like an hour but oh no I just have to go further. I made it to MSU and thought I wonder it Deanna and Mel are home. It has been forever since I have seen them. Deanna was home so, we caught up and I didn’t get out there till 6:30 and I left my place around 4:30 when I got home from work.
I think riding bike really helped. I haven’t got to ride the bike for like 4 months because of all the training I did but it sure felt good riding again. Tings will never be the same but feeling my like myself will be soon and I will hopefully be running and active again.
