weekend update

This weekend was great!!! I got to hangout with Jen on Saturday while watched a movie to just relax before my race the next day.
Saturday I got up early to get ready for the race and I ran pretty good. It hought it was pretty good for the first 5k of the year. I got 16th out of around 100 or so and 20:18 was my time. Then Dan I tailed it out of there after cheer for Kristi to the parade were we found the LSC after running around for a while.
Went home to rest before Carrie and Kristi came over to go get Carrie’s brand new car. Well not new but it is nice.
I got back home and rested for a little while before I went go pick up Jen and we went to a corn maze it was fun. The whole thing was to find 5 signs and to bring back a finial answer that added up to a finial number. We spent a hour of so in there but when it got dark it was hard to see even with a flashlight. We ended up finding 3 of the signs we couldn’t figure out the answer. We are not people with all that useless knowledge. We left and went back to Springfield and we headed to Bass Pro. Jen has never been there (how that is I don’t know. She has been here for 3 years and hasn’t been to Bass Pro) then we to Wendy’s for frosties and fries (great dinner).
We went downtown to walk around at the pub crawl were Jen got to meet some of my friends and we ended up walking around for a couple of hours. Took her home and talked for a while. I had to be at church early that next morning so I left and was going home when I friend called so I went to go pick her up and bring her back to the LSC where they had a dance that night and they were still dancing at 12 in the morning. Crazy people!Sunday went to church twice to sing in the choir and went out to shop for food. Then I was planning on going over to the twins to visit them for a while and then sneak over to Jen’s apt to surprise her but she called on the way inviting me to come over for chili. I went over to the twins for a while to catch up and have some good laughs as usual. I then went over to Jen’s where she made some awesome sweet chili. Good stuff. We watched Volcano with her roommate, which I found out to be dangerous. Those two together could get the best of my selfasteam and me but probably not. It was fun! I came back home were I didn’t want to wake up this morning. Ahhhh! It has been raining the whole day. Poor trick’r treat’rs are going to get wet tonight.

FRIDAY!!!

IT IS FRIDAY!!!!!
Well this has been pretty good I have had some trails and just the opposite but the weekend it almost here.
Friday after work I’m going home to take a nap because I was planning on getting some sleep last nite but a certain female decided to surprise me by knocking on my door. I didn’t mind at all because I enjoy her in my life.
Tomorrow is the second race of my season and I’m kind of wondering what is going to happen. Last time I ran it I was kind of bored but this year I have some competition. His name is Dan and if he is with me at the end it is going to be a race. We sped up a little yesterday at the end of or run to test out see what it would be like. Dan is tall and has long legs while I’m shorter with and speed but I have something he doesn’t have, race experience. If anybody would like to see the race will be at Phelps Grove Park at 8 a.m. I know it is early but I think it is worth it.
After the race Saturday Dan and I are going to go to the Parade with the LSC and have some fun but we can’t wait around at the race because the parade starts soon after we are done racing.
After that I’m going home for a little rest and then Carrie is coming over and we are going to Bolivar to get her new car. Awesome!! I wonder if she will let me drive it? Naaaaaaa, probably not!
Saturday nite Jen and I are going to a corn maze where if we get lost i don't think I will mind and then probably heading down to the Pub Crawl so for all of those that we see you will get to meet the woman that has come into my life and that is driving me nuts, in a good way that is!! So tell me who will be down there and I will try to give you a call. We will plan to down there around 9 or 10.Sunday morning we get extra hour to sleep and I’m glad because I will probably need it from the nite before. I will be attending both services as part of the chour singing for the Lord on Reformation Sunday. We are singing some hard songs this week and I’m gong to try my best to get them right.

Finally!!!

The weekend was good!!!
Didn’t do much Saturday just relaxed. I did get some bad news from home. My dad was taking our dog Bubba to the vet and my dad just got a new truck. The old truck use to have a camper on it and this one didn’t and Bubba jumped out and was dragging. Bubba’s paws got really scraped up and my Father felt really bad but my sister called me lastnite saying that they went to go see him and that he is doing better. Bubba said it all when he came jogging over with his nice looking socks on his back feet. He was happy to see everyone and they say he should be home Friday.
Sunday I went to church where Jen was late and she had to seat closer then where I was so I gave her crap for it. She doesn’t like sitting up close.
Missouri State had their window painting that day also. I was put in charge of getting it done since a lot of people would be out of town because of the break. I showed up at the LSC and nobody was there and nobody was there when I left so I went over to the house to ask and Miranda came to the rescue so went over and started when Matt and Paige came to help also. Then minutes later Jen Young came to complete the crew. We did an awesome job and everyone if they can, should look at our finished product. After that I cleaned up and went and picked up Jen. We had some trouble with the Explorer (Randy) that was still over heating. It was fun!! We went out to dinner and went back to my place to watch Batman. Yes she likes Batman!! How cool is that? We had a great time together but I had to take her back because I had to go to work that next day. L But I like our time together and think she does also.

corn mazes suck

Well ladies and gentlemen that Great Gabby as gotten his butt kicked. Oh no not by and person but by a corn maze. It is sad I know but it was difficult but we made it through. Some friends of mine invited me to go to a corn maze with them and I was excited to because this would be my first corn maze and love mazes. Well we got lost even getting to the maze itself but we found or way. Well the maze had to parts. The first part didn’t take us long at all but the second one caused us trouble. We all thought our goal was to make to the bridge because we thought that was the way to go on the way out but oh no it wasn’t. For a hour we went around in circles and more circles. IT was about 10 o’clock when the maze shut down when they came and got us. We found out that we weren’t even suppose to go over the bridge. Awwwww!!! What!!! Are you kidding!!! Well on the way home we were all pooped and I ended up sleeping on the way home. But we got our butts handed to us and the sad thing is that Jen and I going to another corn maze this weekend. Wish us well we are going to need it.

Well I got home around 11 and I went strait to bed. Jen was getting off of work around 11:30 and I said she should call if she wanted. Well I fell asleep and missed the phone call but I called her right back. She asked if I had seen outside lately and I said I had. She said I should look out again. I went to the living room and I could hear voice out side. She said she was out my direction before seeing her friend Joyce but the only thing is that Jen’s work and Joyce are nowhere near my place. J Jen came in and we talked for a while and then she went on to Joyce’s. Did I mention I like her?
Well Jen gave me a picture of her (Yes I will show you all as soon as I can scan it so all you know she is real GOSH!!!) and she kind of hid it in the explorer (sneaking) where I found it yesterday morning. I decided to put in on my dash to have with me while I drive oh but it didn’t stay where I set it. It slid down in the dash. So when I got to work I took off the panel on the bottom part of the dash and it wasn’t there. I asked my friend John to help me so we took a lot of the bottom of the dash to get this picture. We got it but we had to come back at lunch to put the rest of it together.

Growing up

Hi all

This week has been pretty thus far. Homecoming is coming to Missouri State and even though I’m not in college anymore I still get a little fired up about it. This year like the past years I am helping with the widow painting and banners, which I love because I love to design things. This year it seems that I have been put in more charge of everything, which is good and bad. I love to design and make it come to life but putting me in charge of stuff is nuts. I have always been the person in the background that does the work and stays in the background. I guess it is all about growing up and taking on more responsibility. God is good like that!!

Last night was prayer and praise night at the LSC. It was good to learn about what they learn at PMT (Pray Ministry Training). Afterwards we got cranking on the window painting and banners for homecoming. We had a little trouble but we think we got it. I have to finish it up but everything should look pretty good for the LSC. I told Jen that I as going to be over at the LSC late and should come over if she wanted to after her class. She showed up and it was good great to see her around my friends. We left from the LSC and went to Stake n Shake were where had some food and then we went on a walk for like 2 hours. It was great!!! I like that girl!!!
I am now the proud owner of Batman Begins. I could wait till Christmas to get so I just had to get it. I told Jen that I got it and she asked when we were going to see it. I much better could you get then that.

Everything is going well. I feel so free, more then I use to. I have the same good and bad things happening but it seem like I’m more relax about it. It is crazy!! I feel like I only use my apt to sleep in anymore. I have so much stuff going on it isn’t even funny. I’m enjoying it but my apt isn’t as clean as it once was.

Change happens...

This weekend it has come to my attention that I have changed that I’m not who I use to be. Well is that a bad thing? Aren’t we always changing every day, every hour, and every second? I have felt a change in me in the last six to seven years and I like the person I am becoming for the most part. I still have along way to and yes I have changed but in some ways I haven’t changed. I feel that the changes are good and are helping be the person I’m suppose to be. I won’t leave any relationship behind unless you give me a reason to and I’m not going to be afraid to voice my opinion when it is needed. Plus if you really know me I don’t give up on things to easily. If you don’t like it I’m sorry I’m still changing and so are you. Life is funny like that isn’t it?

On a liter note I have some awesome news!! I am now the owner of my Explorer (Randy). It is mine and I hope to keep it for many more years.

This weekend was cool. The LSC went to Hiet’s Point were we learned about doubt and we can over come it. It was great getting to know everyone better and to get away from everything for a little while into a neutral setting to learn more about God and how He works in our lives. I also enjoyed getting a great work out helping out around the camp. We got to dig some homes that weren’t so easy mainly because we had to go through rock but it was great. My body felt as hard as rock for the past couple of days. I miss doing hard work but I don’t think I would want to make a living doing it. I have seen what it has done to my father and he always said to find a job where you don’t kill your body.
By Sunday I wanted to come back. I found out that I wasn’t as prepared for the outdoors as I thought I was and I did miss some people and one in particular. When you are use to talking to people on the phone couple times a week you kind of miss hearing their voices.
One more day until Batman Begins coming out on DVD. I can’t wait.

what a life

First off. A BIG SHOUT OUT to Mandy and Missy on their Birthday!! Happy Birthday Ladies!!!

Second off, what a beautiful day.

This weekend I'm with the LSC to Hiet's Point at the Lake of the Ozarks. I have never been there but what it sounds like it will be fun times spending time with friends in worshiping God away from the city.

Last nite I cooked dinner for Jen and I and it was pretty good except the French bread was a little over baked. I tried something new and it didn't work out the way it should but it was still good; just a little crunching. Then we had dessert. Yes I made dessert!!! She enjoyed it

It was funny cuz I had a cold now, she as the cold and let hope don't get it back even though at one time she wanted to give back to out of revenge. Women can be mean.

Last this is for the friend that called me last nite. Times might be hard right now but i see good things in you future if you just hang in there.

Fun times in my life...

For those that remembered I ran in the Sunshine 10k (6.2 miles) this weekend. Well here is the play-by-play wrap up.
I went to go pick up Dan at the LSC where we preceded to go to St Johns where the race would start. I was nervous because last year I hurt myself in this race and did want to do that again.
We got there were Dan and I ran around to warm up before the race. Now I haven’t had anybody run around with me in years. I have usually been on my own for races but having somebody there kept my mind off the race.
I had a little trouble with my shorts. The shorts that I have worn for the last two years in all of my races had stretched out. Now yes I could have pulled the drawstrings but they didn’t have those. They were a prefect size for the last two years. I had to find some other shorts or I would either being hold them up most of the race or they would fall down. Thank good ness to back up plans I remember that I had a kept an extra pair in my running bag. THANK GOODNESS!!! I always try to have a back-up plan.
At the starting line where I think Dan was about to knock me one. I kept question things. But right before the gun went off I got into running mode were I was as ready as I was going to be. Dan wasn’t planning on running with me but as the gun went off we went out together. We ran a good pace for the first mile or so then I start speeding up where he kept going with me. Around the 3-mile stage he started to falling back where he said his shines and knee were starting to go so he said go on. So knowing I was on my own I went out to catch as many people as I could but not o kill one self. I saw a women that looked like an old professor at the 4 mile so I went after her. I caught her at the 6 mile mark and a tired to get her to go with me but she couldn’t so she said go one but then she told the guys in front of us to start to sprint and I said was thinking don’t’ tell the that. So my instincts kicked in and I put the afterburners on and I was gone. I jetted past them and maybe two more people on the way in. Thanks to all who was behind us and thank you to Jen Haglund and Donna for coming out in the cold to cheer us on.
The official time for me was:
47th place
6th in my age group
Clock time: 43:23
Chip time: 43:19
Average mile pace 7:00
Ok back to Friday nite. My Jen, sorry I like saying that, and I went out Friday nite to see “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and it was good except for the ending. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Movies are good to get your mind of the next day race. Then Saturday Jen came over to my place where we watched movies until her friends called us to invite us to meet them. We met them at eh Mudd Lounge downtown were talked until like 12 or so. Her friends are from Jefferson City and went to Helias so we had some good laughs. One of them use to manage for the track and cross country team so we had some really good stories. Jefferson city and Helias are hometown rivals. It was a fun nite.
Each nite Jen and I went out I was sick and we still went out and had a great time.Sunday went to church and then met up with my parents who were in town for lunch and to catch up. Then that evening the Missy and Mandy came over were we had a great adventure exploring the under part of an over pass. Fun times!!!

These are the days..Live them

Here we go!!

Wow this week as been a hum dinger of a week. I thought the only thing I had to worry about was the race this weekend but you know how life goes sometimes. This week was great in most ways.
Monday I went out for a run and just kept running until I got to Missouri State from my place. I’m guessing that is about 3 miles or so and I still had to run back. It was great run but I was worn out when I got back. On the way back I saw a runner up in front and thought it was a female so I went her way. She was far ahead of me so I just did the best I could to catch her. I did but I didn’t stop when she did. I did what wanted to and went my way back to my apt. I’m goooooood. I like to run after people it is something to shoot for.
Tuesday I went to the LSC and had a good time worshiping God and getting stuff ready. At the end we started talking about ideas for the upcoming homecoming and they liked the idea I had come up with for the window painting and now I’m trying to come up with 2 more. Still working out those. Then afterwards I surprise Jen at her car when she got out of class where talked and talked until 11. We had a great time.
Wednesday is when it all started getting interesting. Tuesday nite at the LSC my new pal Dan had the sniffles and I bragged that I was fine. We are both running in the race this weekend. Well I guess my body didn’t take the weather change so well and I started to get sick. I’m still battling it but it will be gone tonite but it has kept my mind off the race and other things. OJ and water is the main course for today. Tomorrow is the big day, the day I have been waiting for a month. Last year I beat my PR but I paid for it with a injuring for the rest of my season. This year I’m a little smarter, in lot better shape (I think anyway) , and I plan to run for fun and beat the people on the way trying to pass people like crazy hope my body can keep going and beating the clock.
I am nervous I had a dream that I hurt myself the other nite and just thinking I don’t want to run at all but I know once I start running and I’m in that running mode that instinct will kick in. I love to run especially when I have a lot of people around me. I just have to run smarter. So wish me well and if anybody wants to watch e-mail me. I hope to have pics to show and you know I will have play-by-play next week. So kick those tires and lite those fires we going super sonic. Lol!!!
