Red Alert!!!
Well last nite was interesting. My friend Deanna came aver and we talked about a lot to stuff from the future to the what people have been up to. It was fun to just chat with a friend. It was even better cause she came over to my place. I am starting to pack up stuff so it was good that she came over so I could do that and hang out with a friend.
After she left I got back to packing when I heard this “beeping” sound. I looked about and went towards the sound. I went outside and the sound was coming from next door. Fire detector!!! I knocked on the door nicely a couple of times and then I hammered on the door. That brought back old RA days. Anywho, nobody was replying so I went and called 911.
Back to the story; I called them and told them the info they needed and then I got wallet, keys, and cell and went out the door beating on doors telling them of the situation.
About the time I got everyone out of that section of apartments and the Firemen came the “beeping” sound stopped. I thought Crap I hope I don’t get in trouble. The Firemen checked around and we called the Landlord saying the Firedudes wanted to double-check the inside.
Everything seems to be all right so they left without even checking the inside. I wanted to see them bust down the door but that didn’t happen. The Landlord called my neighbor and he raced home I guess. It turned out to be he left the burner on that was boiling tea. So that could have gotten worse. The Firefighters said it was better to be safe then sorry so I’m glad that I did call 911. The situation just brought up memories of what happen in St. Charles when I had to do the same thing that saved people and the apartment building.
